How do we get personal information, and why do we have it
Most of the personal data we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:
- To enable you to create an account and a budget form that you can use for either:
- To keep a record of your financial status
- To share with companies that you wish to make a repayment plan
- To offer repayment to a company
- To receive advice from FCA regulated companies who maybe able to help you manage any debt that you have
- We collect information about your health, which, with your explicit consent, will be shared with the company with which you wish to make a repayment plan.
- IE Hub will not ask for evidence of your health condition.
- We collect childrens date of birth to enable us to check for potential benefit entitlements
We may receive the following personal information from companies to enable you to create an account.
- Name
- Email address
Open Banking can download your income and expenses onto your budget form. However, IE Hub does not see or capture your banking login details. Please see our website section 'Services' for further information on this and other services.
We are an authorised subscriber of the Vulnerability Registration Service, and if you have registered with them, we will be able to match the details we receive from them. We will use this information to inform the companies you are sharing about your vulnerability status only if the companies are also subscribers to VRS.
Quality of data
If you do not agree with any information provided within your IE Hub account, you should change the information and resubmit. Although we hold information on your behalf, you are responsible for keeping this up to date, and you will decide with whom you want to share this information. You authorise us to accept and act on your instructions and the information provided by you through the data share facilities on this website.
Any new information provided by you, or on your behalf, would be shared with the Creditor who created your account, Creditors to whom you have previously provided access, and Creditors to whom you provide access at the time of submission. You may revoke access to your information for any Creditor at any time using the features on the website. Any future submissions will not be shared with that Creditor if you do revoke access.
Creditors may choose to verify the information you have provided on this website, for accuracy and completeness, by comparing it with that held by Credit Reference Agencies. The Creditor would need to have separate consent from you to access the information held by the CRAs. You have a right to apply to the CRAs for a file copy.
*Please note: if you provide any information relating to your health when commenting on your income or expenses, you are providing explicit consent to share this with the company with which you will be sharing your budget. If you do not wish the company to see the information relating to your health, please do not add this in the comment box.
We use the information that you have given us to:
- Provide and manage your access to our site
- Provide you with the tool to share your budget through your account
- With certain companies, you can set up a payment plan by offering a repayment and providing your bank details to the company. IE Hub does not store your bank details
- You may also authorise us to provide access to your information to a Creditor while you are over the phone with their agent. We will provide you with a One Time Password (OTP) that you can give the agent to enable them to access your budget
- With your consent, we can provide you with our Freepost service and print and post your budget to certain companies. If we are unable to send your budget using our Freepost service you can download your budget and email it directly to the company you need to share it with. Please see our FAQ’s on our website for information about our Freepost service
- Provide you with details of any potential benefits you may be able to claim
- Provide you with details of any water discount schemes in your area that you may be able to claim
- Communicate with you by responding to emails that we receive from you
- Supplying you with information by email that you have opted-in to (you may unsubscribe or opt-out at any time by using the unsubscribe link in the email)
- We are analysing your use of Our Site and gathering feedback to enable us to improve Our Site and your user experience continually
- Your anonymised data for analytical and statistical purposes will improve our understanding of consumer affordability and debt issues. We may use third parties to assist us in this activity
- We may also use your anonymised data for marketing purposes with your permission where the law permits
- We may contact you by email or telephone, text message or post with information, news, and offers on Our products and services. You can opt out of these marketing messages by emailing customer.support@iehub.co.uk and requesting a marketing opt-out. Alternatively, you can opt-out within your IE Hub account
- We may contact you by telephone occasionally to request your participation in a survey about using IE Hub. If you prefer not to be contacted for surveys, please let us know, and we will ensure that your contact information is removed from our list.
We may share this information with
Any company that you decide to share for assistance in payment arrangements. If you have decided to share your data with an organisation that has subsidiaries or head offices outside of the UK, then employees from those offices can access your data and you would be subject to the data privacy policies of the organisation with whom you are sharing your personal data.
Inbest will receive your anonymised data to enable them to provide you with details of potential financial help from the government. The Benefit and Tariff entitlement we present back to you are estimates only and are based on the information you have provided in your budget.
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:
- Your consent. You can remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting customer.support@iehub.co.uk

How we store your personal information
Your information is securely stored in the UK and complies with GDPR to ensure your data is safe and secure.
The security of your data is essential to us, and to protect your data, we take many necessary measures, including the following:

We keep your data for the following time frames:
- Six years from the submission date if you do not use our service and request deletion
- You can request that we delete your information at any time from our systems, and data will be deleted 72 hrs from the date of request. You can make this request by sending a message through your IE Hub account or emailing customer.support@iehub.co.uk
- If you have shared your budget with a third party using your IE Hub account, you must request them separately to delete your data from their system.
We will then dispose of your information using programmatically tested SQL procedures.
Your data protection rights
Under data protection law, you have rights including:
- Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information
- Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think needs to be completed
- Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances
- Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict processing of your personal information in certain circumstances
- Your right to object to processing - You have the right to object to processing your personal information in certain circumstances
- Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or you, in certain circumstances
You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. However, we have one month to respond if you make a request.
