The problem

Millions of vulnerable UK energy customers missed financial help because of low awareness, fragmented support, and complex benefits. GDNs lacked tools to spot financial distress proactively.

Barriers included low Priority Services Register (PSR) uptake, minimal awareness of social tariffs and benefits, and limited literacy or digital confidence to apply for support.
Our solution

IE Hub partnered with the GDNs to deliver a proactive and inclusive vulnerability strategy.

With the GDNs, we launched digital tools and campaigns that automatically assessed benefit eligibility, educated 1.7 million households through multi-channel outreach, and integrated PSR support and vulnerability flags into customer journeys.
The results

Since 2024, IE Hub and GDNs helped 136,000 UK customers using tools and campaigns. Over 70% qualified for unclaimed benefits, and 55% were referred to extra support like social tariffs or the Priority Services Register.

In one year, £26 million in unclaimed benefits was uncovered. By providing vulnerable households with the tools, confidence, and support to access entitled help, IE Hub has improved outcomes, reduced hardship, and boosted financial resilience for thousands of UK families.
